Native Security watched over the action to make sure no one was acting out of place. Rumors spread that the protesters were violent and dangerous, but nothing could have been further from the truth. Signs were posted at the entrances of the camp stating: "this is a place of peace and ceremony." and "No weapons allowed." New protesters went to an orientation class, where they were informed that no weapons, alcohol, or drugs were allowed in the camp.
