Women's Silent Prayer Walk // Standing Rock

Women's Silent Prayer Walk // Standing Rock

from 10.00

Over 500 women led a silent prayer walk from the bridge all the way up to the barricades. As the women crossed the bridge about a half a dozen armed vehicles zoomed over the hills to reinforce the wall. Over 50 armed men lined the walls as the women filled the bridge with the men following behind. A water ceremony was held at a location sacred to the indigenous people on the other side of the bridge. The police reluctantly let a few elder women cross over and down to the water's edge to perform the ceremony. In purchasing these photos, you receive a unique part of history and culture into your home and/or workplace while contributing to my work of advocating for the stories and causes of others and shedding light into dark places. 10% of sales will go to help the people of the Standing Rock Reservation and environmental protection.
